We naturally hold on to what Is, even when it turns to what Was. The moments we have experienced turn into memories the second they pass, that is the reality of our existence. But nothing is ever lost, it is instead integrated into our existence. What I have learned along the way and is attempting to adopt on a daily basis (high maintenance it is) is to maintain a perspective that life is dynamic and ever so changing and we as beings are evolving progressively with experience to experience. So as I look back at my memories, the joy, the pain, the sorrow, I cherish, I feel, I find a direction that I look forward in moments to come to live. Maybe it's selfishness, but I have a hard time letting go, at least mentally. Let me know when the next good time comes around, I'll try to keep some of the faces same.
